SNERDI attends IAEA Technical meeting on Critical Challenges with Digital I&C Systems

From October 8 to 11, 2019, delegation from Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research & Design Institute (SNERDI) is invited to attend the IAEA Technical meeting on Critical Challenges with Digital Instrumentation and Control Systems at Nuclear Power Plants (NPP).

The purpose of this technical meeting is to provide an international forum for sharing experiences and lessons learned in coping with major challenges associated with nuclear power plant instrumentation and control (I&C) systems, as well as providing I&C-based support for plant performance improvement; and to assist the IAEA in planning future activities on these topics. 

83 participants from 25 Member States and 2 international organizations are divided into 5 sessions to share experiences and opinions on Digital I&C design and Verification and Validation, licensing and regulatory aspects, long-term operation and modernization, emerging technologies respectively. Attendees also discuss topics including I&C support for plant process performance improvement, advanced technology /artificial intelligence application in NPPs and so on.
