The first China International Import Expo (CIIE) International Quality Innovation Forum and the 12th Shanghai International Quality Symposium was held in Jin Jiang Grand Hall from November 8 to 9, 2018. The Academician Member of International Academy for Quality (IAQ), President of Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research & Design Institute (SNERDI), Dr. Zheng Mingguang, attended the forum and hosted the Guest Speech Session.

Huang Guoliang, Director of Quality Development Bureau of the State Administration of Market Regulation, was invited to deliver the opening speech. Over 400 representatives from USA, Germany, Czech, UAE, Sri Lanka, Asia Pacific Quality Organization (APQO) and other international corporations jointed together   held a round-table meeting together and expressed the incisive views on quality management.

During the forum, Dr. Zheng introduced the historical development, technical capability, project progress on AP1000 and the nuclear safety culture of SNERDI. He pointed out that, nuclear power was the cornerstone of energy, playing vital role in alleviating climate change, and passive nuclear power technology was well proven through the construction of self-reliance projects. Taking advantage of such technologies as Big Data, Internet of Things, Cloud Calculation, Virtual Reality and Design Simulation, he said, intelligent design system could highly improve the quality and efficiency of the design and promote the transformation from Design 4.0 to Quality 4.0.

Representatives believed that, quality should be promoted through new vision, new concept and new perspectives with the rapid development of economy in China. In the future, realizing the creation of quality by new technologies, building the trust-worthy brand, and constructing the solid control system will be the inevitable factors for quality improvement for upgrading of global trade.

The China International Import Expo (CIIE) is the first state-level expo of “import” in the world. It is a significant move of the Chinese government to affirm its commitment to free trade and economic globalization and to actively open up its market to the world.
