On 9th Octobor, 2018, Opening Ceremony of Tsinghua University International Master’s Program in Nuclear Engineering and Management (TUNEM) was held in Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research and Design Institute (SNERDI). 

Chief Designer of Chinese National Key Project CAP1400 and President of SNERDI, Dr. Zheng Mingguang extended warm welcome to the students and introduced the technical advantages and development prospects of CAP series. He said TUNEM program was an important bridge and link to learn technology, build friendship and promote communication between students and companies.

Wang Xuewu, Dean of the Department of Engineering Physics of Tsinghua University, retrospected the cooperation between SNERDI and Tsinghua. And he expected the interaction could be further strengthened in the future.

Supported by National Energy Administration and Ministry of Education, first term of 24 students of TUNEM from 8 countries has completed the first-year courses in 2017.The opening ceremony marked that the program has entered into the professional practice phase with 10-day company visits and 2-month individual tutoring in SPIC.As important part of Going-out Strategy in China’s nuclear industry,24 Tsinghua students will engage in the nuclear power construction as new force after the program, which will profoundly promote the international cooperation and communication in the world nuclear field.
