Shanghai, May 13^th, 2011- May 12^th, Pakistan Chashma NPP Unit-2 (abbreviated as C-2) celebrated its inauguration. Pakistan Premier Mr. Yousaf Raza Gillani unveiled the plaque for C-2. Entrusted by Mr. Wang Binghua, Chairman of SNPTC, Mr. Gu Guoxing, vice president of SNERDI, presented the ceremony.

The celebration signifies the 111 days ahead of schedule of the completion of the 2^nd 300 MWe nuclear power plant designed by SNERDI with complete self-reliant intellectual property rights. It has made a precious tribute to the 60^th anniversary for the establishment of Sino-Pakistan diplomatic relations and added a new chapter to the South-South Cooperation.



The design of C-2 project has taken C-1 as reference and given full consideration for the requirements of PAK/911 issued by Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority (PNRA). The success of C-2 has reproved the maturity, advancement and safety of SNERDI’s design technology for 300 MWe nuclear power plant.

In the meantime, as the general designer, SNERDI has launched the overall construction work of C-3 and C-4. The FCD for C-3 was on Mar. 4^th, 2011. The excavation of C-4 was started on Apr. 1^st this year and the FCD is scheduled at the end of 2011.
