Research of Large Advanced Passive PWR Achieve Important Progress

29 to 31 July, 2013, Shanghai – State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation (SNPTC) convened the pre-acceptance meeting on two scientific research projects of Large Advanced Passive PWR Nuclear Power Plant, the National Science and Technology Major Project. The two research projects are respectively on AP1000 nuclear island (NI) major design technology and key equipment design technology. The expert team agreed that the two projects had realized the research target and content designed in the contract task document, fulfilled the specified assessment indicators and, hence, the pre-acceptance was approved undisputedly. The approval of the pre-acceptance signifies that China’s NI design technology has reached Generation Ⅲ level and China has mastered the advanced NI design technology system of Generation Ⅲ nuclear power technology as well as self-reliance design capability of AP1000 NI.
