May 31, 2013, China Nuclear Energy Association (CNEA) released in Yiyang, Hunan Province, its research findings of Inland Nuclear Power Plants' Environmental Impact Assessment. The research indicates that China’s nuclear safety standards are in line with the latest standards of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the safety standards of inland nuclear power plants agree with that of coastal plants, with even tougher restrictions on Radioactive Liquid Effluents Discharge than coastal sites.
