The First South Africa-China Hi-Tech Exhibition was held in Sandton, north of Johannesburg from October 13-15, 2016, with the aim of enhancing relations in the field of science and technology between the two countries. Senior Vice President of State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation (SNPTC), Mr. WANG Fengxue led the delegation, supported by Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research & Design Institute (SNERDI), to present the advancement and safety of CAP1400 to the public.

Chinses Science and Technology Vice Minister, Dr. HOU Jianguo, Chinese ambassador to South Africa, Mr. TIAN Xuejun, and South African Department of Science and Technology director-general, Dr. Phil Mjwara, visited the exhibition booth of CAP1400, acknowledged the technical advantages of CAP1400 and acquired the latest progress on demonstration project.

As the world’s leading GenIII nuclear power technology, CAP1400 attracted international attention due to the safety, cleanness and economy. And the S. Africa-China comprehensive strategic partnership is striding forward on nuclear power industry. This exhibition laid the basis for strengthening the existing relationships between SNPTC and South Africa.
