The fourth China (Mianyang) Science & Technology City International High-Tech Expo was held in Mianyang Science and Technology Convention and Exhibition Center from September 21 to 24, 2016, on the subject of "Technological Innovation • Civil-Military Integration • Opening Cooperation". The 2016 High-Tech Expo is co-organized by the Ministry of Science & Technology and Sichuan Provincial People's Government, supported by the Equipment Development Department of Central Military Commission, the Science and Technology Commission of the Central Military Commission, All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce, All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, the and other units, with the United States as the guest of honor this year. Large Advanced Pressurized Water Reactor – CAP1400, as one of the 16 national major projects, was invited to attend the expo due to the contribution it brought to the nuclear power industry in China.

The high-tech expo this year covered exhibition area of 70,000 square meters. There were five indoor venues including the Museum of Civil-Military Integration, Museum of International, Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan, Museum of High-Tech Industry, Museum of Regional Cooperation and Talents, as well as an Intelligent Life Experience Museum. Meanwhile it will include two outdoor exhibition areas for large equipment as well as new ecological energy car industry.
