From December 7^th to 9^th, 2016, the 25^th International Conference on Nuclear Engineering (ICONE25) Planning Meeting was held in Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research & Design Institute (SNERDI). The meeting was hosted by Deputy Secretary General of Chinese Nuclear Society (CNS), Mr. SHEN Lixin. The Senior Vice President of State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation (SNPTC) and President of SNERDI, Dr. ZHENG Mingguang, Vice President and Chief Engineer of SNERDI, Mr. YAN Jinquan and experts from ASME, JSME and CNS attended the meeting.

ICONE25 has already received 1697 abstracts, 1104 drafts that broke the records of ICONE. During the meeting, Mr. SHEN introduced the current processes of organization, schedules, invited reports and sponsors. And Chairs of different tracks reported the preparation circumstances and discussed pending issues.

ICONE is the premier global conference on nuclear reactor technology. It has been jointly sponsored by the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers and ASME since 1991–and co-sponsored with the CNS since 2005.
